US Army Colonel Leon Rodgers, PM CAS, visited the Ajax/CECO/Erie Press (A.C.E.) manufacturing facility today to observe our progress in manufacturing two (2)155mm shell forging lines. Similar machines made by Erie Press Systems 85 years ago are currently being utilized to manufacture U.S. military arsenal rounds. These new press lines are essential to Ukraine’s military efforts and replenishing the USA’s 155mm stockpiles. Although numerous modernizations have successfully been designed and incorporated into the new lines, the continued operation of the legacy lines is a statement of the robust quality machines ERIE originally supplied (85 years ago). The US forging and manufacturing production efforts and the stability of the A.C.E. legacy, with tried-and-true foundational pieces of equipment, continue to hold firm.
