It has been prepared by a panel of experts from the UK Lubricants Association (UKLA) Metalworking Fluid Product Stewardship Group (MWFPSG) and
the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recognising the need to both reflect current good practice in managing MWF and to reduce the risk of ill-health in operators.
The guide addresses the preparation, maintenance and disposal of MWF and contributes towards a safe working environment. It sets out core good practices

CIRCULAR VIBRATORY DRIERS – MODEL RANGE G
APPLICATIONS
After completion of the mass finishing process the finished parts are generally wet. Circular vibratory driers of the model range G are utilized for drying the finished parts. After the parts have been transferred into the G drier they pass through a heated medium that can consist of ground corn cobs (so-called maizorb), crushed walnut shells or small wood chips. The Trowal G driers are ideal for drying a wide assortment of different mass produced parts with the added benefit of the drying medium producing not only a dry but also a clean surface without any residual water spots.
TUB VIBRATORS – MODEL RANGE TFM
APPLICATIONS
Tub vibrators with their rectangular work bowl are ideal for finishing mid size to large parts, even, depending on the size of the work bowl, very large parts. Normally, the parts are placed into the work bowl loose where they are freely rotating within the processing media.
DELICATE PARTS
Parts which cannot touch each other during the process because of the risk of part impingement are either clamped with special work piece fixtures, or they are placed individually in separate processing chambers in the work bowl created by special dividers.

Their applications range from aggressive deburring and edge radiusing all the way to high gloss polishing of delicate work pieces, i.e. from intensive cutdown to generating perfect pre-plate surface finishes.
The competitively priced rotary vibrators of the model range CF offer the user high operational efficiency combined with maximum cost effectiveness. Customers can choose from seven (7) different models with work bowl volumes ranging from 100 to 1,200 litres. Equipped with an internal pneumatic separation device, the CF vibrators are easy to operate ensuring a smooth and safe finishing
process. The vibratory motor is equipped with two (2) rotary speeds. This guarantees an optimum finishing process and efficient separation of the finished work pieces from the media.
CIRCULAR VIBRATORS – MODEL RANGE CD
STURDY AND COST-EFFICIENT DESIGN!
Trowal circular vibrators are universal finishing machines which can be utilized for treating a wide range of different parts. The CD machines are employed for aggressive deburring and radiusing (edge breaking) as well as for high gloss polishing of delicate work pieces, i.e. their applications range from aggressive cut down all the way to generating pre-plate surface finishes.
All Trowal circular vibrators can be utilized as cost efficient “stand-alone” units. However, they can be easily automated allowing their integration into interlinked, fully automatic manufacturing systems. The CD circular vibrators are equipped with an internal separation system consisting of a manual or pneumatic separation flap and an easy-to-exchange built-in separation screen. Main characteristics of the Trowal CD vibrators are their robust, sturdy design and their competitive pricing.
Customers can choose from 7 different models with work bowl volumes ranging from 110 litres up to 1,200 litres.

TWO-BATCH PRINCIPLE FOR COST-EFFECTIVE MASS FINISHING
Compared to vibratory surface finishing equipment, the Trowal Turbotron centrifugal disk finishing
systems offer a more than 10 times higher grinding performance. Turbotron machines are mainly
used for removal of heavy burrs and edge breaking/radiusing of small to midsize mass produced parts.
However, their applications also include fine grinding, surface smoothing, polishing and even “high
gloss” polishing.
The centrifugal force of the rotating spinner (60 – 250 RPM) accelerates the media/work piece mass
and pushes it up the inner wall of the stationary work bowl. With the diminishing kinetic energy
gravity forces the media and parts to slide back onto the rotating spinner where the centrifugal force
accelerates them again.
While the system separates a first batch of finished parts from the media on an external separation
unit, a second batch of raw parts is processed in the work bowl. The parallel execution of the
finishing and separation function minimizes costly idle equipment times, especially during the
separation process. Double batch systems are ideally suited for automated finishing processes.
AVIATION
ENGINE PARTS
Turbine components like fan blades, compressor blades, blisks, turbine disks, engine casings, etc., require a perfect surface fi nish with low Ra readings. These are achieved by processing the parts in top of the line rotary vibrators equipped with the “gate clearing” feature for gentle and 100% unloading of the parts from the finishing machine. For somewhat more intensive finishing processes high performance Turbotron centrifugal disk finishing machines are utilized. And, the eco- friendly Trowapast finishing process produces surface finishes with Ra readings of <= 0.2μm.
STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS
Trowal tub vibrators allow the efficient, cost effective finishing of the surface of large structural components used in wings, fuselages and landing gears with lengths of up to 6,000 mm (20 ft) and a maximum width of 1,300 mm (4.3 ft). The proven “multi vib” vibratory drive system guarantees an even, intensive movement of the media mass over the complete length of the vibratory tub producing an absolutely homogeneous fi nish on the parts surface.
OTHER COMPONENTS
Our latest technical development, the Multi Vibrator MV, allows the intensive finishing of the inner and outer surface of hydraulic housings.
This versatile vibratory system is also ideally suited for processing delicate components which must not touch each other during the vibratory finishing process. Of course, Trowal also offers economic solutions for deburring mass produced
bulk parts like screws, rivets, etc. And, of course, such bulk parts can be efficiently coated in our “Rotamat” coating systems for corrosion protection, visual differentiation and the dissipation of static electricity.

MASS FINISHING NEEDS PROCESS WATER
Water and cleaning compounds are two indispensable ingredients for nearly all “TROWALIZING” processes. Media and metal fines as well as oil and grease from the surface of the treated work pieces are accumulating in the process water. For this reason, the process water must be cleaned. Whenever the process water goes to drain, the legal standards for the cleaning process (e.g. flocculation) are quite stringent. For recycling of the process water the cleaning requirements are not quite as strict.
The multiple use of the process water by recycling it, offers many advantages: The fresh water and compound consumption can be reduced by as much as 98%, respectively, 90%. And since no water goes to drain, the user does not need any approvals by the water authorities. In addition, the sludge disposal costs can be reduced, because the sludge coming from centrifuges contains about 50% less water than the sludge from flocculation systems. For certain mass finishing applications process water recycling is not possible, for example, for:
• Pickling with different types of acids
• Multi stage processes with multiple finishing compounds
• Applications with very strict cleanliness requirements for the surface of the finished work pieces.
In such cases the wastewater must be flocculated and discharged to drain.

The principle of the boom arm is to bring the torch close to the pipe you want to weld. The boom arm can be extended, set in angles and lifted up and down.
Mobile Boom Setup All handling is easily done manually and no tools are required. This is also very practical when moving the Mobile Boom to a new location or new welding job. It doesn’t even have to be very accurate, when you position the Mobile Boom and the boom arm and it is easy and quickly done within seconds. A complete set-up of the Mobile Boom if everything is disconnected and the Mobile Boom moved to a corner is app. 5 minutes only. PHAsisROBy is a mobile, automated ultrasonic inspection system designed to transform spot weld quality assurance through robotics, AI, and advanced NDT technology. Material Specific (ISO S – ISO M)
For ISO M and ISO S materials, Yamawa proposes the ZEN and ZET taps. ZEN taps – part of the Orange Ring series – are recommended for applications on nickel-based super-alloys while the ZET taps (Pink Ring series) are specific for titanium-based alloys. Thanks to the specific design and surface treatments they undergo, these taps guarantee precise and high-quality threads, reliability and longer tool life in the most challenging applications.
Blue Ring Series
Yamawa’s portfolio, with a complete catalogue of more than 9000 product items, includes high-performance tapping solutions specifically designed for ISO S and ISO M materials that guarantee quality and reliable threads such as the Blue Ring Series of taps for stainless steel. Among them, it is worth mentioning the SP-VA taps for blind holes. It is the best solution for low-speed machining on drilling machines and machining centers for stainless steels such as the AISI 304 and AISI 303. It can be also used for chrome steels, chrome-molybdenum steels, and other ductile materials with tendency to harden while machining. The con-eccentric thread relief guarantees high cutting performances and processes stable and secure. With the recent broadening of the Blue Ring Series, Yamawa has added the VA-SP NPT type for stainless steel pipe fittings and the VA-SP E(1.5P) with short chamfer and the oversized type ISO3(6G) is also available.
HV Series
Initially developed for heavy industry tapping applications, Yamawa HVSP helical taps with oxidizing surface treatment (OX), are now successfully used also in general mechanical machining for ISO P and ISO M1 materials.
HVSP taps feature a special “heel” design on the cutting edges. This design prevents chips from getting caught between the thread crest and the cut material during reversal, thereby preventing chipping. Their unique BLF geometry and flute design improve chip evacuation, even in deep holes, while the overall geometry and OX surface treatment ensure an excellent thread finish.
Yamawa has recently added the HVPO taps to its existing HV series. HVPO are spiral pointed taps for through-holes and are extremely effective and stable in chip evacuation. The chamfer, combined with the optimal flute design, facilitates the formation of very curled chips that are easy to evacuate and reduces the risk of chipping.
HVPO taps produce high-precision and well-finished threads under all feed conditions (both on conventional and non-conventional machines). Thanks to their optimized flute design, this range of taps performs exceptionally well even with long-chipping steel, whether using oil or emulsion. Furthermore, HVPO taps enable reduced torque compared to conventional spiral pointed taps, leading to more stable processes and longer tool life.
VU Series
New options are now available for the Z-PRO VU Series of ultimate machining taps, broadening this range of high performance tools. Here you have an overview of the news; for further information download the updated leaflet.
- The new VUSP CH coated spiral fluted tap with axial lubrication hole suitable for the use with water-soluble coolant has joined the VU Series
- A new version VUSP 1.5P with a chamfer length 1.5P is now available. It is the ideal tap for machining blind holes where there is little room between the bored hole depth and the full-thread length.
- The VUSP range now includes taps up to M24 size for both the M and MF thread types
- The VUPO range of taps extends from M2 size up to M24 (actual range was M3~M16); furthermore, from M16 both the M and MF thread types are available.
- Both VUPO and VUSP taps are in stock also with long shank (JIS standard)

These taps enable continuous and reliable tapping; their special design with innovative flute geometry promotes exceptional chip evacuation and lowers cutting forces, so the tool life of VU Series extends significantly.
EHRZ
EHRZ is the innovative Yamawa roll tap setting new application standards for machining medium-hardness carbon steels. As part of the high-performance Z-PRO series, the EHRZ is designed for rolling threads in carbon steels with hardness up to 40 HRC and in stainless steel.
