Increased interest in hydroforming

After a decade of relatively unchanged demand, the automotive industry's interest in hydroforming is rapidly growing. The method offers a great deal of freedom in terms of manufacturing complex parts with exact surface forms and small tolerances such as exhaust systems.

"It is primarily in China that we see growing interest. The number of inquiries we receive is increasing, and we recently sold two hydroforming installations to one of the largest car manufacturers there," says Per Josefsson, Global Sales and Service Manager at AP&T.

Complete knowledge partner
AP&T is getting ready for the future by continuing to strengthen its role as knowledge partner and complete supplier of hydroforming equipment including presses, automation equipment and tools.

"At our development and testing facilities in Lagan, we have produced new simulation methods for manufacturing advanced products. Hydroforming is a knowledge-intensive field, and we have made the decision to work at the forefront," says Johan Friberg, senior advisor at AP&T.
