Full house from Gewefa at MACH 2012
At MACH 2012 Gewefa UK will be exhibiting products for each of the 7 manufacturers it exclusively represents in the UK in addition to launching an exciting new toolholder concept that offers 100% cutter grip security in arduous milling operations.
The toolholding innovation is a hydraulic chuck that, with the addition of a second mechanical side clamp, provides 100% tool shank security. It is ideal for general and heavy duty milling operations where there are substantial radial and axial forces on the cutting tool, creating conditions with the potential for tool slip or pull out.
Hydraulic chucks are widely regarded as offering one of the best means of tool grip when undertaking heavy or difficult machining operations in materials such as titanium, composites or exotics. However, there is always the chance of the cutting tool shank slipping or pulling out; a situation that applies to any friction based securing arrangement such as roll type milling chucks, shrink toolholders, hydraulic chucks and collet chucks.
To combat this, Gewefa has developed its fail safe side locking toolholder that provides 100% tool security in the most demanding conditions.
For use with cutters machined with the universal Weldon flat (DIN 1835 Form B) or Whistle Notch (DIN 1835 Form E), the toolholder is a unique combination of the features of the conventional operator friendly hydraulic chuck and mechanical clamping cutters.
As well as the hydraulic chuck clamping action around the cutter which offers damping and anti-vibration features, a secondary side clamp arrangement locks a screw onto the cutter’s Weldon flat or Whistle Notch surface. The cutter is therefore guaranteed 100% secure and accurately gripped.
Also being exhibited for the first time in the UK are new products manufactured by Rineck, OTT-Jakob, Parlec, EWS, Nann and Pibomulti.
Rineck has a new range of eight ‘RapidShrink’ shrink clamping machines including four unique horizontal format units that give the operator greater accessibility when setting up the tool and also allow longer toolholder/cutter combinations to be set.
OTT-Jakob is introducing the Power Check II pull force gauge. This is used for checking the force at which a tool is pulled into the machine tool taper and provides precise levels of diagnostic data. Key features of the new model are a gripping channel for automatic changing and positioning, a self activation mode, more compact design and an internal memory that stores data on up to 8,000 measurements.
Parlec also has new introductions. In the past 12 months it has completely overhauled its pre-setter range introducing new features based on the embedded ParleVision G3 modular system. This allows the user the freedom to configure a system to their specific needs and allows upgrading of single or multiple functions.
Products from EWS will include the new Trifix® adjusting system for Gildemeister multi tasking machines. The double sided adjusting system is guided by a very precise key way at the surface of the turret allowing exact positioning of the tool. EWS is a qualified DMG/Mori Seiki tooling partner with its innovative Trifix® system.
Finally, Pibomulti will be giving a debut to its innovative slim line angle head for aerospace applications and Nann will be exhibiting its new MSKZ range of clamping units for multi-spindle machines.
Representatives from Gewefa and its partners will be present on the stand to discuss and demonstrate the features of all of the new products being featured.
